FPS x PromptPay QR Payment

“FPS x PromptPay QR Payment” (Cross Border QR Payment Services) is officially launched on 4 December 2023. The bilateral linkage between Hong Kong’s FPS service and Thailand’s PromptPay service allows our customers to utilize their BOCOM(HK) Mobile App to make real-time FPS merchant payments based on the foreign exchange rate given, after using FPS to scan the QR code provided by PromptPay merchants. Likewise, Thai visitors can use PromptPay to pay at merchants via scanning FPS QR code in Hong Kong.

Steps for the payment

1. Click“QR Code Receive / Pay”in the main page of BOCOM(HK) Mobile App.
2. Log on to Mobile Banking (log in with your mobile token password or biometric authentication).
3. Scan #(Open Scanner to scan PromptPay merchant QR Code to make a payment).
4. After scanning the QR code, the exchange rate, amount in Hong Kong dollar and amount in Thai Baht will be shown instantaneously.
5. Confirm the payment after verifying the transaction information.

• Foreign currency exchange are subject to exchange rate fluctuations which may involve risks. The fluctuation in the exchange rate of foreign currency may make a gain or loss in the event that customer converts the Hong Kong dollar into foreign currency.
