1. What can I do in the [Account Enquiry] function?

Account List & Balance - You may enquire the balance of your internet banking sub-accounts (eg. savings, current and credit card accounts) exclusive of third party accounts and investment accounts. Besides, you may enquire account balance of Pacific Debit Card and Loans account(s). Account balance may include cheques or other bill amount which remain uncleared while available balance refers to the balance which you may withdraw;

Transaction Records(HK) - In addition to today's transactions enquiry, you may enquire the transactions in past of 1 day, 7 days, 14 days, 30 days and 45 days. The maximum period of enquiry is one year;

Transaction Records(Mainland) - you may enquire  the transactions of Pacific Debit Card for last 2 trading days.

Deposit Details(Mainland) - you may enquire the saving account and time deposit account details of Pacific Debit Card

Last 20 Transaction Records - You may enquire the latest 20 transactions transacted via internet banking. The transaction records include the date, time, transactions/remarks, accounts no. and amount (if any) etc. 


2. What can I do in the [Fund Transfer] function?

BOCOM Account(HK) - You may transfer funds to pre-registered accounts, credit card account (ie. credit card payment) or unregistered accounts of BOCOM in Hong Kong by instant transaction or instruction. Funds transfer to unregistered accounts is limited to HKD only;

BOCOM Account(Mainland) - You may transfer funds to pre-registered accounts in Mainland China. If there is any problem of with your pre-registered account during transfer, our system will use Telegraphic Transfer to complete the transfer. Instant Transfer to Mainland China pre-registered accounts is limited to HKD or USD only and customers must register an English address with the Bank. For RMB remittances (applicable to Hong Kong residents only), it should take 1 – 2 days to be executed.

Local Bank Account - Funds transfer can be made to pre-registered or unregistered accounts of other local banks by instant transaction or instruction. For instant transaction, transfer can be completed by CHATS or  Electronic Clearing Transfer (ECT). For instruction, transfer can be completed by ECT only. In addition , both CHATS, ECT & instruction records enquiry are also available;

Overseas Bank Account - This function, also known as overseas remittance, will enable funds to be transferred to pre-registered or unregistered accounts of overseas banks. The transaction records are on file for enquiry.


3. What are the difference between CHATS and Electronic Clearing Transfer (ECT)?

You may transfer funds to other local banks by means of these two electronic payment systems, CHATS and ECT. Money transferred by CHATS is processed on a real-time basis while money transmitted by ECT will become available in two business days under normal circumstances. The currencies transacted via CHATS are HKD/USD/EUR and the processing fee is HKD50/USD6/EUR5 respectively per transaction. However, ECT transacts HKD only and the fee is HKD5 per transaction.


4. What can I do in the [Credit Card] function?

A/C Summary - The summary will show you the credit limit, minimum payment, outstanding balance, payment date, payment due date, statement balance, points available and points expiry date;

A/C History - You may enquire the current transactions and those of current month/last month/month before last;

Statement - You may enquire statement of current month/last month/the month before last;

Cash Advance - You may withdraw money from your credit card account and deposit the sum to your designated account;

Credit Card Payment - You may settle your credit card outstanding balance by making payment from your deposit account.

Bonus Point Redemption - You may redeem gifts and/or enquire total points available and your redemption records.



5. What can I do in the [Bill Payment] function?

Pay & Enquire Bill - You may settle your bill through this 24-hour payment service by debiting your savings, current or credit card account. There are over 300 financial and non-financial institutions to which payment can be made. Some of them are government departments, banking and credit card services, credit services, securities brokers, insurance companies, education institutions, public utilities, property management and communications etc. In addition, when you pay the same bill, the merchant category/name and bill number will be filled in automatically.

Payment Records - You may enquire the payment records;

Standing Instruction - You may pre-register bills payment with a future payment date which can be set from one day (min.) to 30 days (max.) ahead.


6. Are there any payment limits set in [Bill Payment] service?

Each bill payment and donation transaction limit or daily aggregate limit is HKD50,000.

Each tax payment transaction limit or daily aggregate limit is HKD300,000.

Each white form eIPO payment transaction limit or daily aggregate limit is HKD4,000,000 or its equivalent.


7. What can I do in the [Foreign Exchange] function?

Buy/Sell - You may either buy or sell HKD against foreign currency, namely AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY, DKK, EUR, GBP, JPY, NOK, NZD and USD; Besides, you may have cross currency exchange transaction as well.

Limit/Circular Order - There are two limit orders, namely 'Execution Rate' and 'Execution Cycle' . Execution Rate Order refers to an exchange rate pre-set by customer.

The FX transaction (buy or sell) will be executed automatically as long as the spot rate hits the pre-set rate. Under Execution Cycle Order, the FX transaction (buy or sell) will be executed at regular intervals (each business day, the first business day of every week/month/season) regardless of rate movement;
Order Enquiry/Cancellation - You may enquire the order(s) which have been placed and are valid in a designated account and/or you may choose to cancel the order(s);
Transaction History - You may enquire the executed order records in a designated account.   


8. What can I do in the [Fixed Deposit] function?

Open Time Deposit - You may open time deposit in HKD / foreign currency with different tenors to choose from. You are entitled to a preferential deposit rate whenever you transact through internet banking.

Deposit Uplift - You may uplift your time deposit on the maturity date and deposit the principal and interest to a designated deposit account;

Amend Maturity Instruction - You may amend your time deposit maturity instruction before its expiry date. There are three options ' Renew Principal Plus Accrued Interest' , 'Renew Principal Only and Repay Accrued Interest to Account'  and 'Repay Principal Plus Interest to Account';

Deposit Details - You may enquire your time deposit details with the confirm number, period, principal, interest rate, maturity interest, maturity date and maturity instruction.


9. What can I do in the [Investment Service] function?

Investment Portfolio - The investment portfolio shows the investment fund & equity linked investment a/c, debt instrument a/c and FX margin a/c (if any) with their total nominal value (HKD equivalent) and investment amount (HKD);

Past Transaction Records -  To show the transaction records of the selected investment account;

Account Maintenance- You may add or delete investment accounts of your own accord.

FX Margin 
Margin Trading -  You may carry out general online margin trading transaction. You have options to trade  against HKD, USD or cross currencies;

Place Single Order - You may place a FX margin trading order in advance at a designated rate within a period of time;

Quotation -  You may enquire the rate of foreign currencies against USD, HKD or cross currencies;

Enquire Order - You may enquire the order of the FX Margin contract you have placed in advance;

Margin Deposit -  You may pay in margin deposit to your margin account for trading;

Account Balance - You may enquire the balance of your FX Margin account;

Outstanding Transaction Records - You may enquire the outstanding FX contract or those having been squared but remain unsettled. Transaction details include position, amount, price and settlement date;

Cash Margin Transaction Records - You may enquire the activities of the cash margin movement;

Bank Information - You will find holidays notification of the main countries as well as other special events;

Lending Rate/Borrowing Rate - You may enquire the borrowing and lending rate of the main currency;

Financial News - You may browse the news of the financial markets.

Bond – Bond subscription service.

Investment Funds – Fund subscription, switching and redemption services.

 


10. What can I do in the [Deposit Extra] function?

11. What can I do in the [MPF] function?

MPF - You may enquire Contribution record, Account Balance, Investment Choice of New Contribution & Fund Information. For Contribution record, the service provides contribution records for the latest 5 years.

 


12. What can I do in the [Apply online] function?

Apply Online

Cheque Book - To apply for cheque book of selected current account. There are two options for mailing method - 'by surface' or 'by registered';

Statement

Current Account Statement - To apply for statement of selected current account;

Consolidated Statement - You should first go to our sub-branches to activate the function before you apply for an online consolidated statement ;

BComBEST AC Summary - BComBEST account holders may apply for the BComBEST account statement.

Personal Loan - You may apply for a personal loan by filling in the application form online;

Tax Loan - You may apply for a tax loan by filling in the application form online;

Open Account - You may open deposit accounts such as savings, current and time deposit.

Open Investment Account – You can open securities account, Debt Instruction Account, Investment Funds Account, and Equity Linked Investment Account online.

Cash Instalment Plan – Convert your available credit limit into instant cash.


13. What can I do in the [Stop Cheque Payment] function?

Stop Cheque Payment - You may give instructions to stop cheque payments through online banking while the cheque is issued by our bank. Service fee will be charged after each successful instruction is completed. The service charge must be in the same currency as the cheque. Maximum 50 cheques can be submitted for stop cheque payment per each request.

The service provides the transaction record through the online or branch/sub-branches channel for the latest last 3 months.


14. What can I do in the [Insurance] function?

Travel Insurance (Single Trip) -  You may take out a Travel Insurance (Single Trip) at a concessionary premium;

Travel Insurance (Annual Cover) - You may take out a Travel Insurance (Annual Cover) at a concessionary premium;

Medical Card - You may take out a Medical Card Insurance at a concessionary premium with a variety of plans (no. of days) to choose from;

Home Insurance - You may take out a Home Insurance at a concessionary premium with different plans to choose from;

Helper Insurance - You may take out a Helper Insurance at a concessionary premium with different plans to choose from.


15. What kinds of service I can choose from the [Customer Services] function?

Change Password - You may change your password regularly;

Stop Cheque Payment – You may stop cheque payment instruction, enquire cheque status and enquire stop cheque records;

Update Transfer Limit - You are allowed to lower the transfer limit to the unregistered accounts. You should go to our sub- branches whenever you need to raise the transfer limit;

Update Personal Information - You may use this function to amend your personal information such as address or telephone number etc.;

Account Opening Appointment - You may open account by appointment and visit the designated sub-branch on the scheduled date to sign the account opening documents;

Account Maintenance - You are free to add or delete your savings, current, time deposit, debt instrument account, investment fund and equity linked investment account, FX margin account or credit card as sub-accounts of your internet banking;

Alias Setting - You may name the sub-accounts (savings, current, time deposit, third party accounts and credit card account) of your internet banking for easy reference;

Security Device - You may set and manage your security device as a two-factor authentication tool for online high-risk transactions;

Update Individual Investment Profile Analysis Form – You may enquire and update Individual Investment Profile Analysis Form;

Overseas Cash Withdrawal Service Setting – You may activate / cancel overseas cash withdrawal service and set cash withdrawal limit;

Mailbox - The mailbox receives and retains (for one year) the electronic statements such as current account statement, consolidated statement, time deposit confirmation and securities statement for your review;

Statement Service - apply for electronic statement of different services. 

 


16. What are the services of the [Securities Services] function?

Securities Order - This function serves the securities trading, auction and trigger order;

Order Journal - You may enquire spot day's trading transactions and you have an option to amend or cancel the order;

Account Balance - You may enquire both the balance (buying power) and the withdrawal balance. The former may include the proceeds of the stock to be sold (remains unsettled) and the total balance (buying power) is available for buying other stocks. The later is the balance which you can withdraw;

Portfolio- Portfolio shows the current stockholdings and their market value;

Transaction History - The followings will be recorded for your reference: trade, cash withdrawal/deposit, stock withdrawal/deposit, interest paid/received, dividend, warrants/rights, stock conversion and initial public offering etc. You may also enquire the trading orders in the past 90 days;

Funds Transfer - You may transfer funds between your securities account and your settlement account;

IPO - You may subscribe to new shares and enquire the application status;

IPO Financing - You may apply for finance and subscribe to new shares.

18. Is internet banking services available 24-hour a day?

Internet banking can be accessed 24-hour a day. However, service such as time deposit can be processed during office hours only. For detailed information, please refer to our service hours schedule. Besides, internet banking will be temporarily suspended when system database is being updated.


19. How can I change my personal information?

You may change your personal information by:

(1) visiting our branch / sub-branches; or

(2) sending a letter of notification to your account opening branch / sub-branch. You may also do it through internet banking by selecting [Customer Services] > [Update Personal Information] (two-factor authentication required).


20. Can I access internet banking services when I am overseas?

Yes. You simply connect your computer to our website at http://www.bankcomm.com.hk, and login with your IBS number and password then you may perform your daily banking transactions wherever you are.


21. What can I do in the [Annual Statement of Instalment Loan Account] function?

Internet Banking Mail Box provides the enquiry for Annual Statement of Instalment Loan Account. The Annual Statement of different products will send to your mail box:

If there is any change of interest rate, we will send you Change of Interest Rate Advice in both electronic and paper form. If all the instalments have been paid, the Bank will not issue a change of Interest Rate Advice for any change of interest rate.

 


22. Will I receive confirmation notice to confirm online transactions?

We will send you time deposit confirmation, securities statement, credit card statement and consolidated statement in both electronic and paper form.  As for other online transactions, since the records have already shown on your account documents (e.g. savings passbook, current account statement or consolidated statement.), no confirmation notice will be issued.


23. Can I change the cut-off date of my consolidated statement?

Generally, the cut-off date is set according to individual account-opening branch schedule. If you need a specified cut-off date, please visit our branch/sub-branches and we are pleased to help.


24. Can I apply for account opening via internet banking or amend my personal information online?

Yes, you may apply for account opening and amend your personal information online by selecting the "Account Opening Appointment" and "Update Personal Information" respectively under "Customer Services" menu. Please note that two-factor authentication (Security Device or SMS one-time password) is required for updating personal information. We accept personal account exclusive of joint savings accounts and corporate accounts. When you change your contact phone number, correspondence address or any other contact information, please visit any of our branches or login internet banking and select "Update Personal Information" function to update new particulars.


25. What if I have queries about internet banking?

26. How to apply for or terminate e-consolidated statement?

You may visit our branch or sub-branches in person and apply for e-consolidated statement service. You may also amend your consolidated statement mailing instruction (to be authenticated by Security Device or SMS one-time password). via internet banking.


27. What can I do in the [Apply for Electronic Securities Account Statement] function?

You can apply for  Electronic Securities Account Statement through Internet Banking 24 hours a day.


28. What can I do in the [Electronic Bill Presentation and Payment Service]?

You can enroll the merchants, receive e-bills and make payment ; make charity donations and request for donation e-receipts through Internet Banking 24 hours a day.
