Refined Measures on Real-Time Fund Transfers Made by Customers

Dear Customers,

In order to safeguard your funds and enhance our service, we implemented name matching process for Faster Payment System (FPS) incoming transfer that use account numbers as identifier and hereby draw your attention to the following important notices regarding FPS transfer:

1. When using FPS, please carefully verify the payment details, including but not limited to the account number and payee's name. It is not likely that you can stop a transfer after it has been effected.

2. When you input the payee's bank account number as identifier and the payee institution is a retail bank, funds transfers of HKD 1,000 or above (or other currencies of an equivalent amount) will generally be subject to Authorized Institutions’ own name checking process.

3. In other cases, such as fund transfers of less than HKD 1,000 (or other currencies of an equivalent amount) or the payee institution is not a retail bank, name checking process may not be conducted.
