1.  What is "Second Password"?  

"Second Password" is a method used to authenticate a customer identity using his/her registered identity document numbers or date of birth (applicable to joint-name account holders only). When a customer conducts any designated online transactions, 8 boxes will be appeared on the input page, among which 3 of them (randomly generated by the system) are left empty for he/she to fill in. A customer has to fill in the information correctly in order to proceed. Therefore, conducting high-risk transactions using "Second Password" can offer a better protection.

2.  How could I fill the "Second Password"?

The 8 boxes appear on the input page represent the first 8 digits/characters of your registered identity document numbers during account opening. You have to fill in the 3 empty boxes according to the indicated sequence . However, unidentified symbols like "-", "/", " (" and ")"should be excluded. For example, if your HKID No. is A123456(7) and system requires you to fill in the "1st", "4th" and "8th" boxes, then you have to fill in "A", "3" and "7":

3. If I am a joint-name account holder, how could I fill in the required information?

3.  If I am a joint-name account holder, how could I fill in the required information? 

Customers have to input the identity document numbers and the corresponding date of birth. For example the joint account holders are customer A and customer B and when customer A is participating the designated online transaction, customer A has to input his/her registered identity document numbers and the date of birth in order to proceed.
